Pennisi Farmer's Festival

The 2025 Farmer's Festival brought the hamlet of Pennisi, in Acireale, to life during the weekends of September 20-21 and 27-28, with daily opening from 10:00 AM and free admission.

The program featured the great classics of the event: grape crushing in the square, macaroni feasts, exhibitions of agricultural tools and local products, tastings of traditional rural dishes — from grilled sausage to seasoned bread — folk music with dance evenings, folkloric shows, entertainment for children, artisan stalls, and traditional games. A festival designed as a tribute to the farmers of yesterday and today, the guardians of the territory and the identity of the Acireale hillside hamlet.

Daily Schedule

• Opening from 10:00 AM
• Grape crushing in the square and live preparation of grape mustard, ricotta, and mustazzoli
• Food stalls with the farmer's dinner: macaroni with tomato sauce or alla Norma, grilled sausage, seasoned bread, local fruit
• Exhibitions of agricultural tools and local products, artisan stalls
• Folk music, dance evenings, and folkloric shows
• Children's entertainment and traditional games
