Ten years of pride in Pavia

Pavia Pride is the event that transforms the streets of the Lombard capital into a great celebration of rights every year. In 2026, the event reaches its tenth edition, confirming the roots of the LGBTQIA+ movement in a university city that is as open as Pavia.

The parade and its meaning

The heart of the day is the parade, which starts from Piazzale Ghinaglia and crosses the historic centre amidst floats, music, performances, and a sea of rainbow flags. It is not just a festive procession: it is a moment for asserting civil rights, inclusion, and the fight against discrimination, which attracts thousands of people from all over the province of Pavia and beyond each year. The motto chosen for 2026 is "Common stories, extravagant stories, everyday stories".

Arcigay Pavia and Coming-Aut

The event is organised by Arcigay Pavia together with the Coming-Aut LGBTI+ Community Center, two historic organisations in the city's activism. A calendar of preparatory initiatives revolves around the Pride day: the Pride Lab, the Pavia Queer Fest, and other cultural events that liven up Pavia's spring.

A city that participates

Part of the national Onda Pride circuit, Pavia Pride is one of the Lombard stops of the season and contributes to bringing the issue of rights to the centre of the city's debate, in dialogue with institutions, associations, and individual citizens.
