Patronal Feast of the Madonna dei Martiri

In 2025, the Patronal Feast of the Madonna dei Martiri experienced its most intense day on September 8th, with the historic Sagra a Mare. The morning salute woke the city at 9 a.m., with the Gran Complesso Bandistico Santa Cecilia and the Bassa Musica Città di Molfetta touring the city center streets.

In the afternoon, at 2 p.m., the official procession departed from Corso Dante towards Banchina Seminario; at 3 p.m., the exit of the statue from the Basilica was announced by a firework display. At 4:30 p.m., the Madonna dei Martiri was loaded onto the trawlers Margherita and Diamante for the maritime procession. In the evening, the boats returned to the quay near the Duomo, followed by the procession towards the Cathedral along Viale dei Crociati, via Madonna dei Martiri, via San Carlo, and Banchina San Domenico, with the final firework display late in the evening.
