Patronal Feast of the Church of San Pantaleone alle Piane

The 2025 edition of the feast of San Pantaleone alle Piane took place on August 10th, renewing the devotion of the small community in the Miglianico (CH) district. As every year, the central moment was the evening procession which, starting from the sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo in the historic center, led the wooden statue of San Pantaleone—the Byzantine-style sculpture hidden in a furnace to save it from the Saracens in 1492—to the church of San Pantaleone in the Caramanico district.

The deeply felt feast combined liturgical celebrations with conviviality among the inhabitants of Piane, confirming the vitality of a tradition rooted in the discovery of the effigy, which has inspired artists such as Francesco Paolo Michetti and Gabriele d'Annunzio.
