Patronal Feast of Santo Stefano Menicillo

The 2025 edition

The 2025 edition of the patronal feast of Santo Stefano Menicillo in Caiazzo had a unique character: out of respect for the repeated losses that had struck the city, the Diocese of Alife-Caiazzo chose to maintain only the liturgical celebrations, suspending the civic portion of the festivities.

The novena of preparation took place from October 20th to 28th, with evening Masses dedicated each day to a different theme — from charity to families, from youth to vocations, and finally to hope — along with the traditional pilgrimage from Macerata Campania, the saint's birthplace. On October 29th, the day of the solemnity, Holy Masses were celebrated in the morning, while in the late afternoon, the procession preceded the solemn celebration presided over by Bishop Giacomo Cirulli in the Co-Cathedral Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta.

The entire event was part of the diocesan jubilee days, with the Co-Cathedral open for prayer and reconciliation, confirming the central role of the patron saint in the spiritual life of the Caiazzo community.
