Faith and grand celebrations

The 2025 edition reached its peak on September 15 with the solemn Eucharistic celebration in the square, presided over by Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti, President Emeritus of the CEI, together with Archbishop Franco Moscone and numerous concelebrating priests, including the parish priest Father Luca Santoro. At noon on the feast day, the community gathered for the Angelus and the descent of the 'Mater Verae Lucis' icon, which was then carried in procession through the town streets on September 16.

Music, lights, and shows

The 'Night of Light' on September 13 opened the secular festivities with a children's party, the switching on of the light displays, and evening concerts. In the following days, brass band concerts, matinées in Piazza Aldo Moro, a concert of sacred hymns, and a symphonic concert in Piazza Santa Maria della Luce took place, alongside light music shows. Closing the feast were the traditional fireworks on the night between September 16 and 17. Mayor Michele Bisceglia and civil authorities took part in the celebrations, strengthening the sense of belonging of the Mattinata community.
