The patronal feast of Rovellasca dedicated to its patron saints
Rovellasca, a small municipality in the province of Como, celebrates its patron saints, Saints Peter and Paul, every year on June 29th. The patronal feast revolves around the town's parish church, dedicated to the two apostles. The current building has a long history: the original chapel, built in the 14th century, was dedicated to Saint Mary; during the 19th century, with the expansion of the side naves between 1849 and 1851, the dedication was changed to honor Saints Peter and Paul.
The heart of the feast is the religious celebration: the solemn Mass in honor of the patrons gathers the entire parish community. Around the liturgy, moments of meeting and conviviality develop which, in the patronal feasts of Brianza, traditionally accompany the occasion, renewing the sense of belonging to the town.
The Church of Saints Peter and Paul houses valuable works, including the portal created by the sculptor Paolo Borghi, with full-round figures and bas-relief panels that recount the key episodes of the parallel lives of the two apostles. Visiting Rovellasca on the day of the patronal feast therefore means combining the devotional dimension with the discovery of the parish's artistic heritage.
The Feast of Saints Peter and Paul is the best occasion to discover the most genuine side of Rovellasca and the province of Como: a town feast that keeps alive a centuries-old tradition, far from the major tourist circuits and therefore even more authentic.
On June 29, 2026, Rovellasca renews the feast of its patrons, Saints Peter and Paul. The religious program, defined by the parish, includes the solemn Mass in the parish church dedicated to them. The detailed schedule of celebrations is published by the parish in the weeks preceding the event.
