Patronal Feast of Saints Nicholas and Francis of Paola

The 2025 edition of the Patronal Feast of Castellaneta took place from May 9 to 11. The civic festivities opened on Friday, May 9, at 9:00 PM in Piazza Principe di Napoli with the traditional hot-air balloon launch and the lighting of the musical illuminations.

Saturday, at 6:00 PM, the solemn Eucharistic concelebration was held in the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, presided over by Bishop Monsignor Sabino Iannuzzi, followed by the handing over of the city keys to the patrons and the procession with the venerated images of the saints along the main streets of Castellaneta, up to the church of San Michele Arcangelo. In Piazza Umberto I, the Fieramosca flag-wavers of Barletta and brass bands performed, with band concerts crowning the day. An edition dedicated to faith, folklore, and community sharing, the beating heart of the popular traditions of the province of Taranto.
