Patronal Feast of Saints Cosmas and Damian and Saint Michael the Archangel

The 2025 edition

The Patronal Feast of Saints Cosmas and Damian and Saint Michael the Archangel was held in Massafra from September 26th to 29th, 2025. Sunday, September 27th featured the Gran Concerto Bandistico of Rutigliano from the morning, the first brass band gathering in the afternoon with the Great Wind Orchestra Santa Cecilia of Taranto, the evening procession of the statues of Cosmas and Damian, and, late at night, the spectacular "Dance of Fire" pyromusical show at the Medieval Castle.

On Sunday, September 28th, the transfer of the statues from the Sanctuary to the Church of the Carmine took place, followed by the procession of Saint Michael the Archangel and, in the evening, the major "La Vita inVita" concert in Piazza Garibaldi. The festival concluded on September 29th with celebrations dedicated to the Archangel. Accompanying the days were the "Trades of Memory" exhibition and the monumental illuminations that lit up the center of the Taranto town.

2025 Program

Saturday, September 27th

• Morning — Gran Concerto Bandistico City of Rutigliano through the city streets
• 5:00 PM — First brass band gathering with the Gran Concerto Bandistico of Rutigliano and the Great Wind Orchestra Santa Cecilia of Taranto
• 7:00 PM — Procession of the statues of the Physician Saints Cosmas and Damian along the main streets, accompanied by the Great Wind Orchestra Santa Cecilia of Taranto
• 8:00 PM — Band concert by the Gran Concerto Bandistico of Rutigliano
• 11:30 PM — "Dance of Fire" pyromusical show at the Medieval Castle

Sunday, September 28th

• 10:30 AM — Transfer of the statues of the Physician Saints from the Sanctuary to the Church of the Carmine, with musical accompaniment
• 7:30 PM — Procession of the statue of Saint Michael the Archangel along the main streets, accompanied by the Gran Concerto Bandistico of Rutigliano
• 9:15 PM — "La Vita inVita" concert in Piazza Garibaldi with Resto Zero, Orchestra Mancina, Paolo Macagnino, Giada Agasucci, and Diodato
