Patronal Feast of Saint Stephen the Protomartyr and Saint Isidore

The 2025 edition of the Patronal Feast of Santo Stefano di Sessanio took place on August 2 and 3, confirming the traditional appointment dedicated to Saint Stephen the Protomartyr, the village's namesake, and Saint Isidore. In the Abruzzese village at 1,250 meters altitude, in the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, the feast combined popular devotion, with liturgical celebrations and a procession through the alleys of the historic center, with the conviviality of tradition, featuring typical local peasant dishes. The event was part of the village's lively summer calendar, alongside the cultural initiatives of the Estate nel Borgo festival.
