Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint Roch
Feast of Saint Roch 2025
From September 13 to 15, 2025, Casamassima celebrated its patron saint, Saint Roch of Montpellier, with three days of intense festivities. The preparatory novena, from September 4 to 12, accompanied the community toward the solemnity with evening celebrations at 7:00 PM.
On Saturday, September 13, after masses at the Mother Church, the image of the Saint was moved to the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. On Sunday the 14th, the highlight day, the solemn Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Msgr. Francesco Cacucci was held at 10:30 AM, followed by the procession with the image and the relic of the Holy Cross and, in the afternoon, the procession with a stop at the cemetery. On Monday the 15th, the procession traveled through the town streets.
On the secular side, the days were enlivened by brass band concerts, dancing fountains in Largo Fiera, the release of a hot air balloon, and the funfair in Piazzale Nazariantz. Closing the festivities was the traditional fireworks competition at midnight on September 15 on Via Acquaviva.
