Patronal Feast of Saint Placidus the Martyr

2025 Feast of Saint Placidus in Poggio Imperiale

The 2025 patronal feast took place in Poggio Imperiale (Foggia province) on October 4th and 5th, combining religious and civil dimensions as per tradition. The community paid homage to the patron Saint Placidus the Martyr and the co-patron Saint Michael the Archangel with a procession of statues through the town center, a solemn mass in the Mother Church, and the veneration of the relic.

The civil program, organized by the Patronal Feast Committee, brought two highly anticipated free concerts to Piazza Imperiale: Franco Ricciardi on October 4th and Alunni del Sole on October 5th. The festivities were completed by artistic illuminations along the streets, brass bands, and the pyrotechnic display that closed the feast, attracting residents and visitors from neighboring towns.

2025 Musical Program

• Saturday, October 4th — Concert by Franco Ricciardi in Piazza Imperiale (free admission)
• Sunday, October 5th — Concert by Alunni del Sole in Piazza Imperiale (free admission), followed by fireworks

During the days: procession of the patron saints' statues, solemn mass in the Mother Church, brass bands, and illuminations.
