Patronal Feast of Saint Michael the Archangel

The 2025 festival in Greccio

From September 26 to 29, 2025, the village of Greccio, in the province of Rieti, celebrated its patron Saint Michael the Archangel. The festivities opened on Friday the 26th with the display of the saint's statue at noon, followed by the 5:30 PM rosary and the 6:00 PM Eucharistic celebration, a liturgical schedule repeated on the following days.

On Sunday, September 28, after the evening mass, the procession with the statue of Saint Michael began at 7:00 PM through the streets of the historic center, accompanied by the G. Verdi Musical Band of Lisciano, directed by Maestro Davide Giovannelli. At 8:00 PM, the community pasta dinner offered by the festival committee took place, followed at 9:00 PM by the fireworks display managed by Pirotecnica Morsani.

On Monday, September 29, the day of the liturgical feast, the festival concluded with the rosary, the solemn Eucharistic celebration, and, in the evening, the traditional charity raffle.
