Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint Michael and Saint Vitus
The 2025 Patronal Feast of Sammichele di Bari brought the town to life from May 8th to 12th. On Thursday the 8th, the solemnity of the Apparitions of Saint Michael the Archangel, festivities opened with a concelebrated Mass on the parvis of the Mother Church and the lighting of the illuminations in Piazza Vittorio Veneto. The following days featured the translation of the statue of Saint Vitus, a musical about Saint Francis of Assisi, and a cabaret show by Renato Ciardo.
The highlight was Sunday, May 11th: the solemn concelebrated Mass presided over by H.E. Monsignor Giuseppe Favale, Bishop of Conversano-Monopoli, the handing over of the city keys to the Patron Saint by the Mayor, and the processions through the streets of the center. In the evening, the return of the statues of Saint Michael and Saint Vitus to the Mother Church was accompanied by a fireworks display and the Grand Concert Band of the City of Bari, conducted by Maestro Pasquale Alezza.
