Edition 2025 — Maruggio Patronal Feast
On July 13th and 14th, 2025, Maruggio celebrated its Patronal Feast in honor of Saint John the Baptist and Saint Christopher, renewing a tradition deeply rooted in the community.
The first day, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, featured liturgical celebrations and the solemn procession of the saint's statue through the streets of the historic center, followed by the faithful in prayer. July 14th was the turn of Saint Christopher, with a second procession and civil festivities that filled the village with light displays, music, and the aromas of traditional cuisine.
As per custom, the fundraising for the organization of the feast was managed by volunteers, testifying to the strong bond of the inhabitants of Maruggio — and the emigrants who returned for the occasion — with their patron saints.
