The feast of the Limito district, between tradition, sport, and music
In Limito, a district of the Municipality of Pioltello in the Metropolitan City of Milan, the Patronal Feast of Saint George is the moment of the year when the entire community comes together. Dedicated to Saint George, the patron saint of the neighborhood, the feast unfolds over a week of events that combine the religious dimension with popular, sporting, and gastronomic aspects.
The religious heart of the feast is the Solemn Holy Mass with the characteristic "Rito del faro" and the blessing of the Croce Verde ambulances. Alongside this are moments of strong local identity, such as the parade of the districts, accompanied by the Musici di Legnano, and the traditional distribution of ribbons with the award for the best-decorated area of the neighborhood.
The feast is also about energy and fun: dancing evenings with bands and silent disco, sports afternoons with various tournaments and a climbing wall, and above all the Stralimito, the footrace now in its fifth edition. The Urban Lake street food festival provides the backdrop, enlivening the district for several days with food trucks and specialties from around the world.
Organized by the Organizing Committee of the Patronal Feast together with the Municipal Administration of Pioltello, the Feast of Saint George is much more than a patronal festival: it is the story of a neighborhood that, through masses, tournaments, music, and gastronomy, strengthens its bonds and welcomes visitors to the Milanese Martesana.
The 2026 edition of the Patronal Feast of Saint George enlivens the Limito district from April 19 to 26, 2026. Sunday, April 19, serves as a pre-feast day, while the main program focuses on April 23โ26, with the solemn Mass, the "Rito del faro", the fifth edition of the Stralimito, and the Urban Lake street food festival.
Throughout the festival (April 23โ26): Urban Lake street food festival.
Limito is a hamlet of Pioltello (MI), in the Martesana area east of Milan. It can be reached from the SP103 Cassanese; the Pioltello-Limito train station on the Milan-Treviglio line, served by suburban lines, is convenient.
The feast takes place over about a week, in April, with the central weekend (April 23โ26) full of events in Piazza Don Milani, the Oratory, and the streets of the district.
Free admission to events; some activities (stalls, street food) are paid.
