Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint Donatus
The 2025 patronal feast
On August 6th and 7th, 2025, the village of Bomba, in the province of Chieti, celebrated the Patronal Feast of Saint Donatus, Bishop and Martyr, the most important religious and community event of the year. The liturgical date of August 7th featured the solemn procession of the imposing statue of the Saint through the streets of the historic center, a moment of deep emotion for the faithful.
In the parish church of Santa Maria del Popolo, the precious 18th-century relics—the silver bust and the silver arm of the Saint—were displayed for veneration, while the blessing of the faithful sealed the celebrations. The festival, free and open to all, attracted numerous pilgrims from neighboring towns in the Sangro Valley and many residents of Bomba who returned from abroad, confirming the town's deep bond with its patron saint.
