Patronal Feast of Saint Domenica Ciriaca

In 2025, the community of Mandanici, in the Province of Messina, once again gathered around its patron saint, Saint Domenica Ciriaca. The liturgical feast on July 6th featured the preparatory novena, the solemn Eucharistic celebration, and the evocative evening candlelight procession with the Saint's relic along the village streets. In August, the external feast took place, with the solemn procession of the precious 17th-century statue carried on shoulders through the village streets, accompanied by the sound of the brass band, songs, and prayers, and closed by traditional fireworks. The festival, as per tradition, also drew many Mandanici emigrants who returned to the village to reunite during the days of the patron saint.
