Patronal Feast of Saint Cesaria the Virgin

The 2025 patronal feast of Santa Cesarea Terme was celebrated on September 11th and 12th, preceded by the preparatory triduum from September 8th to 10th at the Sacro Cuore di Gesù Parish.

The main day, September 11th, featured the 5:00 PM procession of the statue of Saint Cesaria through the city streets, followed at 6:00 PM by the boarding for the sea procession towards the Fontanelle area. At 8:00 PM, a solemn mass was held, presided over by parish priest Don Pasquale Fracasso, with the delivery of the city keys by Mayor Pasquale Bleve; at 9:00 PM, the statue returned to the church. The evening continued at 9:45 PM with a concert by the Lecce City Band, conducted by Maestro Salvatore Tarantino, and concluded at 11:00 PM with a fireworks display over the sea.

On September 12th, the celebrations closed with morning and evening masses and, in the square, a musical evening with Ninebeat '90 and DJ Stefano Fersini, amidst light displays, Salento food stalls, and the festive atmosphere of the thermal village.
