Edition 2025 — Saint Cajetan in Lizzano

The 2025 edition of the Patronal Feast of Saint Cajetan took place in Lizzano from July 29 to August 7, with the heart of the celebrations between August 3 and 7. An intense calendar of thematic masses, the handing over of the city keys to the saint, the solemn procession on August 7, and concerts by the bands of Rutigliano and Castellana Grotte accompanied the community until the grand final pyromusical show.

Religious program

During the week of the solemnity, celebrations were held every evening at 7:00 PM at the Mother Church of San Nicola: Sunday, August 3, mass with youth groups, altar servers, and the parish choir, and the commemoration of wedding anniversaries; Monday, August 4, mass with catechists and educators, followed at 8:00 PM by a party with children and youth in the parish gardens; Tuesday, August 5, mass with the sick and the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.

Eve and solemnity

Wednesday, August 6, the 7:00 PM Eucharistic concelebration concluded with the handing over of the city keys to the patron saint; at 8:30 PM, the solemn procession through the city streets, the blessing, the candlelight procession, and the concert by the 'Città di Rutigliano' Band. Thursday, August 7, the day of the solemnity, morning masses with the distribution of blessed bread, at 7:00 PM the pontifical mass presided over by Archbishop Mons. Giovanni Intini, at 8:00 PM the concert by the 'Città di Castellana Grotte' Band, and at 11:00 PM, the pyromusical show on the church square.
