Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint Caesarius
In 2025, San Cesario di Lecce celebrated its patron, Saint Caesarius, Deacon and Martyr, with the traditional festa ranne centered around the fourth Sunday of July, the 27th of the month. The festivities opened with the novena and liturgical celebrations in the Mother Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, culminating in the solemn afternoon procession: the silver statue of the saint and the reliquary crossed the streets of the historic center accompanied by confraternities, the faithful, and musical bands.
On the civil front, artistic illuminations lit up the village streets, while the squares hosted brass band concerts and folk music performances. There was no shortage of food stalls featuring the flavors of Salento, from pittule to grilled meat, from rustici to local wine. The festival closed with the fireworks display, the most anticipated moment of the final evening.
