In Izano, a small municipality in the Province of Cremona, the patronal feast is dedicated to Saint Blaise, bishop and martyr, venerated as the protector of the throat. Every year, in early February, the community gathers around its parish church to celebrate the saint with a series of religious and civil events involving the entire town.

The most characteristic moment of the feast is the blessing of the throat, an ancient rite linked to the figure of Saint Blaise, who according to tradition saved a child from choking on a fish bone. On the day of the liturgical commemoration, February 3rd, the faithful receive this blessing at the altar dedicated to the patron saint, a devotional practice passed down through generations.

The weekend features the ceremony for future eighteen-year-olds with the presentation of the Constitution, the lottery game in the oratory, and the award ceremony for scholarships for deserving students. The feast culminates on Sunday, February 8th, with the solemn mass.

- 11:15 AM — Solemn Mass
- 3:00 PM — Scholarship award ceremony in the elementary school refectory, with live music

Izano is located in the Cremasco countryside, in the Province of Cremona, a few kilometers from Crema. It can be reached by car from the SP35; the nearest train stations are Crema and Cremona. The celebrations take place at the parish church and the oratory.
