The patron saint of Isso, in the eastern lower Bergamo area
In the plain of the eastern lower Bergamo area, along the Oglio River, the Municipality of Isso (Province of Bergamo) is one of the smallest centers in the region. The town celebrates its patron saint, Saint Andrew the Apostle, on November 30th, the date on which liturgy commemorates the saint in both the Eastern and Western Churches.
The heart of devotion in Isso is the historic oratory of Saint Andrew, dating back to the 17th century. Originally the chapel of the Zucoli palace, the oratory now serves as the main church for the community of Isso. It is around this historic building that the patron saint's feast is renewed each year.
The Feast of Saint Andrew is the main religious event in Isso's calendar, shared with other municipalities in the Bergamo area that have the same patron saint. In a town of a few hundred inhabitants, the commemoration on November 30th keeps alive the sense of community and the bond with tradition, marking the entry into the winter season and Advent.
The 2026 edition of the patronal feast of Saint Andrew in Isso is scheduled for Monday, November 30th, the liturgical day of the saint. The celebrations will take place at the oratory of Saint Andrew, the focal point for the Isso community.
The detailed program will be announced by the parish in the preceding weeks.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published by the parish of Isso. The patronal day traditionally includes a solemn holy mass in honor of Saint Andrew the Apostle at the oratory.
