The Patronal Feast of Saint Benedict celebrates the patron saint of Trigolo, a Municipality in the province of Cremona, bordering the cremasco region. Saint Benedict of Nursia, patron saint of Europe, is celebrated on July 11th, and around this date, the town experiences its most important event.
The "Benedettino dell'anno"
One of the characteristic moments of the feast is the awarding of the "Benedettino dell'anno" prize, an honor with which the community of Trigolo recognizes individuals and entities that have distinguished themselves through commitment, hospitality, and service. Over the years, the prize has also been awarded to those working in integration, assistance, and volunteerism, giving the patronal feast a civil value in addition to its religious one.
