The Patronal Feast of Saint Ambrose is the official recurrence of the Municipality of Gabbioneta-Binanuova, in the province of Cremona, celebrated every year on December 7th, the day the Church remembers Saint Ambrose, Bishop. The feast, promoted directly by the Municipality, is a keenly felt event that combines the religious and community dimensions in the heart of the Po Valley winter.

The great bishop of Milan

Saint Ambrose, bishop of Milan in the 4th century and Doctor of the Church, is the patron saint par excellence of Lombardy and of numerous communities in the region. His figure, a symbol of Lombard religious identity, is venerated in Gabbioneta-Binanuova as the protector of the town. The feast on December 7th represents the highest point of the devotional calendar of the Cremona municipality.
