Patronal Feast of Maria SS. delle Grazie

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Maria SS. delle Grazie confirmed the vitality of one of the most cherished traditions in Bompietro, a village in the Madonie, province of Palermo. As is customary, the feast was preceded by the quindicina, with the statue carried from neighborhood to neighborhood by the village women and welcomed into the homes of the faithful with chaplets, rosaries, and Holy Masses.

On the solemn days of the fourth Sunday of August, the vigil procession took place, with the statue of the Madonna accompanied by confraternities, authorities, and the statues of Saint Joseph and the Most Holy Crucifix, followed by the procession on the day of the feast through the streets of the historic center. The patronal feast was preceded on August 23rd by the Emigrants' Feast, which brought back to the village those who had emigrated. A brass band, entertainment, and fireworks completed the festivities.
