Patronal Feast of Maria SS. della Fontana

The 2025 Patronal Feast of Francavilla Fontana took place from September 5th to 15th, with the main events concentrated between September 11th and 14th. Organized by the Patronal Feast Committee of Maria SS. della Fontana 2025/2026 with the support of the Municipal Administration and numerous local associations, it combined religious and secular programs.

The journey of faith began with the Quindicina and the enthronement of the statue on September 5th, followed by the Novenario. On September 14th, the solemn day, Holy Masses were held throughout the day, including the Pontifical Mass presided over by the Bishop of Oria, Msgr. Vincenzo Pisanello, followed by the floral tribute in Piazza Umberto I, the handing over of the city keys to the Madonna, and the solemn procession accompanied by the "Giuseppe Verdi" band. Among the prominent musical guests were Antonio Castrignanò & Taranta Sound with their show "Babilonia" and the final concert by Max Gazzè.

• September 14 — Solemn dawn salute; Holy Masses at 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:30 (Pontifical Mass presided over by the Bishop of Oria, Msgr. Vincenzo Pisanello), 12:00, 6:00 PM, and 9:00 PM; floral tribute in Piazza Umberto I, handing over of the city keys, and solemn procession with the "Giuseppe Verdi" Musical Association

Secular Program

• September 7 — Sports Expo in the municipal park and DJ set on Via Roma
• September 8 — Presentation of the book on the Mediterranean Diet at Castello Imperiali
• September 9 — "Partita del Cuore" charity football match at Giovanni Paolo II Municipal Stadium
• September 10 — Treasure hunt and film screenings
• September 11 — Guided tours of Castello Imperiali, traditional games, and concert by Orchestra Mancina
• September 12 — Inclusive "Festival of Colors" for children, pizzica dance workshops, puppet show, the Haìtra group in the bandstand (8:30 PM), and Antonio Castrignanò & Taranta Sound with "Babilonia" in Piazza Giovanni XXIII (10:00 PM); Sagra dei Maritati organized by the Pro Loco
• September 14 — Tribute concerts and the grand finale with Max Gazzè and the Calabria Orchestra (part of the "Musicae Loci" tour) in Piazza Giovanni XXIII
• Midnight, Sept 14 — Fireworks display in the Parapallo area
