Edition 2025 — Feast of the Madonna della Croce

The 2025 edition of the Patronal Feast of Maria Santissima della Croce took place in Triggiano from September 8th to 28th, featuring a wide program of religious and secular events. The celebrations opened on September 8th with a procession and a solemn Eucharistic concelebration at the Mother Church, while the third Sunday marked the height of popular devotion. Highlights included the historical pageant in costume, concerts, food and wine stalls, and fireworks.

2025 Edition

The 2025 Patronal Feast of Maria Santissima della Croce brought Triggiano to life from September 8th to 28th, confirming the community's strong bond with its patron saint. The solemn Eucharistic concelebration was presided over by Monsignor Enrico D'Abbicco, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Bari-Bitonto, with the participation of the parish priest Father Biagio Lavarra, and was broadcast live on television.

The highlight of the secular program was the historical pageant on Friday, September 19th: the parade started at 7:45 PM from the Church of Santa Maria Veterana with ladies, knights, commoners, and artisans in period costumes, before merging into the popular celebration in Piazza Vittorio Veneto. The rich calendar also included concerts, illuminations, food and wine stalls with local products, and firework displays, in a blend of prayer and joy that involved the entire town.

Programme

September 8: Opening of the festivities with a procession and solemn Eucharistic concelebration at the Mother Church. September 19: Historical pageant in costume (departure at 7:45 PM from the Church of Santa Maria Veterana) and popular celebration in Piazza Vittorio Veneto from 9:00 PM. Third Sunday of September: Solemn mass and procession of the patron saint. Throughout the period: concerts, illuminations, food and wine stalls, and fireworks.
