Patron Saints Festival and Pilgrimage to the Consolazione Sanctuary

The 2025 edition of the Patron Saints Festival confirmed the deep bond between the village of Deliceto, in the Daunian Mountains in the province of Foggia, and its protectors. The statues of Blessed Benvenuto, Saint James, Our Lady of Olmitello, and Saint Matthias the Apostle were carried in procession along the streets of the historic center, according to a calendar passed down for generations.

The heart of the celebrations was, as per centuries-old tradition, the pilgrimage to the Consolazione Sanctuary: the walk of about seven kilometers through the green hills to the sanctuary that guards the memory of Saint Gerard Majella and Saint Alphonsus Maria de' Liguori. A moment of faith and community that every May brings together the people of Deliceto and devotees from neighboring towns.
