Edition 2025 — San Prospero

In 2025, the Festival of San Prospero animated Reggio Emilia with a long weekend of events, from November 22nd to 24th. The "Prosperino" filled Piazza Prampolini and Piazza San Prospero with farmers' and artisans' stalls, while markets wound along Via Emilia Santo Stefano, Via Roma, and Via Emilia San Pietro. On November 24th, the patron saint's day, celebrations took place in the Basilica with the Pontifical Mass by Archbishop Giacomo Morandi, along with guided tours, autumn flavors, and the inauguration of the ice skating rink at Parco del Popolo.

San Prospero 2025

The 2025 edition of the Festival of Patron Saint San Prospero took place from November 22nd to 24th in the historic center of Reggio Emilia. The traditional "Prosperino" animated Saturday, November 22nd, and Sunday, November 23rd, in Piazza Prampolini, and only on Saturday in Piazza San Prospero, with local farmers and artisans. From November 22nd to 24th, markets colored Via Emilia Santo Stefano, Via Roma, and Via Emilia San Pietro.

On November 24th, the patron saint's day, the day began at 9 AM with the Eucharistic Celebration and the bell concert, culminating at 11 AM in the solemn Pontifical Mass by Archbishop Giacomo Morandi in the Basilica of San Prospero. Among the flavors, the "Autumn Table" by the Pro Loco of the Reggio Apennines with roasted chestnuts, chestnut cake, honey, and mulled wine, as well as gnocco fritto, chizze, and erbazzone. On Saturday, the ice skating rink "Reggio Emilia On Ice" was inaugurated at Parco del Popolo, ideally opening the Christmas season.
