Palio di Valfabbrica – Giostra d'Italia

The Palio di Valfabbrica 2025, the 48th edition of the Giostra d'Italia, brought the village in the province of Perugia back to the atmosphere of the Middle Ages between the end of August and the beginning of September. The three districts — Badia, Osteria, and Pedicino — competed along the streets of the center with parades, sets, choreography, games, and fireworks, in a crescendo of ceremonies and evocative scenes.

As tradition dictates, the festival featured the opening of the medieval taverns and concluded with the equestrian joust on the first Sunday of September: the knights competed for the Palio in the ring race, assault on the saracen, and direct combat tests. The event, linked to the feast of the Crucifix and established in 1974, confirmed its role among the major medieval reenactments in Umbria.
