Edition 2025 — Palio della Tonna

In 2025, the Palio della Tonna returned with its two traditional events in Civita di Bagnoregio: the first Sunday of June and the second Sunday of September. In Piazza San Donato, the district jockeys competed in the donkey race, featuring the three laps of the round square and the elimination heats that determined the winners of the banner.

The 2025 edition of the Palio della Tonna confirmed its classic format, with two races in Piazza San Donato in Civita di Bagnoregio (VT), in the Lazio region. As per tradition, the district jockeys completed three laps of the round square, facing off in elimination heats until the final, which awarded the Palio, the banner painted for the occasion. An event that every year renews the village's bond with donkeys, once the only means to climb the paths toward the "Dying City."
