Palio del Traino 2025
The second edition of the Palio del Traino was held on June 14-15, 2025, in Acquaviva delle Fonti (BA), Puglia, in a new location capable of hosting the races and the public. The protagonists were the ten local districts, which challenged each other by manually pulling heavy carts along the course, re-enacting the ancient race of producers toward the 17th-century fairs.
In addition to the competitions, the program featured parades, performances, live music, folk dances, and food stalls with wine, olive oil, cheeses, and products of the local rural civilization. The event, organized by the Palio del Traino Association, concluded with the victory of the Salentino district, which secured the palio for the second time in a row.
