The Palio dei Rioni di Arsago Seprio is the historic event that, every year in June, ignites friendly rivalry between the four districts of the municipality in the province of Varese: San Rocco, San Vittore, Santa Maria, and Longobardi. For a week, the town transforms into a large playground, with evening races at the oratory and challenges through the streets of the centre.
A tradition reborn
The palio was established in 1974 and revived in 2015 after a long break. Today it is organised by the association I Rioni Arsaghesi ODV, which manages every aspect with the aim of promoting community cohesion and preserving local heritage in its natural, cultural, artistic, historical, and gastronomic dimensions.
