Edition 2025 — Palio dei Castelli
In July 2025, the Palio dei Castelli brought Castiglione Olona back to the Renaissance era, with the eight Districts competing in the Barrel Race for the conquest of the Pallium. Amidst historical parades, flag-wavers, and the natural amphitheater of the Castle of Monteruzzo, the reenactment confirmed its role as a festival of identity for the Varese village.
The 2025 edition of the Palio dei Castelli enlivened the historic center of Castiglione Olona, in the province of Varese, with the usual Renaissance costume reenactment.
The eight Districts competed in the Barrel Race to win the Pallium, accompanied by the historical parade with over 250 participants, flag-wavers, and the investitures of the Captains, according to the tradition promoted by the Pro Loco of Castiglione Olona.
