Edition 2025 — In the Land of Orchids

In May 2025, the village of Palena, in the province of Chieti, hosted a new edition of "Palena in the Land of Orchids," an event dedicated to the over 60 species of wild orchids that bloom in the Majella National Park. A weekend of guided excursions, educational activities, visits to the village's monuments, and a festival in the historic center with music, entertainment for children, and food stalls.

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition confirmed the formula that made the Palena event famous in the Majella National Park: guided excursions in search of the wild orchid blooms, seminars and educational activities dedicated to the extraordinary biodiversity of the Abruzzese territory, and guided tours of the village's monuments and surrounding nature.

As per tradition, the historic center came alive with performances, music, attractions for children, and exhibitions of local products, with food stalls dedicated to local cuisine. An event that every year highlights one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and one of the municipalities richest in wild orchids in the country.
