Edition 2025 — Pagnotta Festival

In September 2025, the Pagnotta and Wine Festival once again enlivened the historic center of Galatone as part of the celebrations for the Madonna della Grazia. Around the Castello Belmonte-Pignatelli, open-air ovens baked warm pagnotte stuffed with ricotta forte and salted sardines, served in the square with local red wines amidst illuminations, band music, and fireworks.

The 2025 edition

The Pagnotta and Wine Festival 2025 took place in early September in Galatone, in the province of Lecce, as the highlight of the Madonna della Grazia festival. In the area around the Castello Belmonte-Pignatelli, bakers took turns at the open-air ovens, offering visitors warm, freshly baked pagnotta.

The bread, stuffed with ricotta forte and salted sardines in the classic version, was accompanied by Salento red wines in an atmosphere of great popular participation. The festival intertwined with the religious and civil events of the patronal feast: the procession, band concerts, illuminations lighting up the center's streets, and traditional fireworks closing the evenings.
