Edition 2025 — Thousand-Egg Omelette Festival

The 28th edition of Padula in Celebration of Charles V and the Thousand-Egg Omelette was held from August 8th to 10th, 2025, at the Certosa di San Lorenzo, organised by Pro Loco Padula. Actor and Rai presenter Beppe Convertini played the role of Emperor Charles V in the re-enactment of the sovereign's passage through Padula in 1535. Over two hundred participants, the Knights of the Papal Bull from Cava de' Tirreni, and the Knights of Charles V animated the historical procession, which culminated in the cooking of the mega-omelette.

The 2025 edition

From August 8th to 10th, 2025, the Certosa di San Lorenzo in Padula hosted the twenty-eighth edition of the event, confirming the formula of three evenings featuring theatre, folk music, and historical re-enactment.

In the role of Emperor Charles V was the actor and television presenter Beppe Convertini. The re-enactment, curated by Pro Loco Padula, involved over two hundred participants in period costumes, the Knights of the Papal Bull from Cava de' Tirreni, and the Knights of Charles V, with historical processions, music, and juggling shows throughout the monastery grounds.

As per tradition, the evening of August 10th concluded with the public preparation of the thousand-egg omelette in the large pan handcrafted according to principles inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's designs, followed by the free tasting offered to the numerous visitors who arrived in the Vallo di Diano from all over Campania.
