Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival

The 1825-2025 Bicentenary

The 2025 edition of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival in Roseto Valfortore was dedicated to the solemn jubilee celebrations for the 200 years since the arrival of the sacred statue (1825-2025). In addition to the traditional rites of July 16th, with the candlelight vigil, five days of celebrations were added from July 24th to 28th.

The program featured Masses and processions between the Mother Church and the Church of Santa Maria Lauretana, with the participation of the Grande Banda del Cilento, the "Città di Roseto" band, and the "Santa Cecilia" choir. The solemn Mass on July 27th was presided over by the Bishop of Lucera-Troia, Msgr. Giuseppe Giuliano, followed by fireworks. In the evenings, concerts by Mirko Casadei, the RDS staff, and Danilo Sacco, the historic voice of the Nomadi, took place. In Piazza Bartolomeo III di Capua, a temporary postal service was also set up with a commemorative philatelic cancellation and a dedicated postcard. The festival closed on July 28th with the traditional Procession of Paradise.
