Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival (Patronal Feast)

The 2025 edition of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival confirmed the central importance of this anniversary in the life of Santa Teresa di Riva. After the unveiling of the statue on July 1st and the days of the novena, on July 16th the town gathered around the Bucalo Sanctuary for morning Eucharistic celebrations and the solemn pontifical mass, attended by civil and religious authorities. In the evening, the procession passed through the districts of Bucalo, Fiorentino, Sparagonà, Sacra Famiglia, and Borgo Marino, with the statue carried on shoulders and preceded by the Discalced Carmelites. The day concluded with traditional fireworks on the Ionian coast, sealing an edition marked by intense devotion and a strong sense of community.
