Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival

The 2025 edition of the Festival of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Ostuni was marked by the return to the community of the restored processional pallium, the canopy that hangs over the statue of the Virgin, which returned to shine with its gold and silver decorations.

On July 16th, celebrations opened with morning Masses at the Church of Santa Maria del Monte Carmelo; at 9:30 AM, the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Monsignor Domenico Caliandro, Archbishop of Brindisi-Ostuni, saw the induction of new brothers and sisters, followed by the Rosary and the Supplication to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. In the evening, the procession crossed the main streets of the city accompanied by a brass band, while band concerts and fireworks concluded the festivities. Carmelite devotion also involved the rural districts of Ostuni, in the heart of the Itria Valley.
