Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival

The 2025 edition of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival in Mongiuffi Melia confirmed the deep Marian devotion of the village. The novena prepared the faithful for the July 16th occasion, a day marked by the solemn pontifical mass and the traditional investiture of the new sisters of the Third Order of Carmel, with the imposition of the scapular and the white and brown cincture.

In the evening, the statue of the Madonna was carried in procession on the precious 18th-century float, accompanied by civil, military, and religious authorities. The concluding rites, at the end of July, took place with a celebration on the parvis of the parish church, the procession around the square, and the act of entrustment of the parish to the Virgin of Mount Carmel.
