The Ospitaletto Carnival

In the heart of Franciacorta, the Municipality of Ospitaletto (province of Brescia) celebrates Carnival every year with a masked parade that fills the streets of the center with color. It is one of those popular festivals that are part of the town's shared calendar: an afternoon when children, young people, and adults gather in costume to cross the streets together towards the big final party in the square.

The Parade and Procession

The gathering is set for the early afternoon at the RSA Serlini, from where the masked procession departs, winding through the streets of the town. The parade then reaches Piazza Mercato, the pulsating heart of the event, where the party continues with music, entertainment, and activities for the little ones. In case of bad weather, the celebrations are moved indoors to the oratory, so as never to give up the cheerfulness of Carnival.

The 'Carnevale in Fantasia' Contest

The most anticipated moment is the 'Carnevale in Fantasia' contest, which awards the most cheerful, colorful, and original masks. Registration is free and takes place at the starting point. There are five categories in the competition: children aged 3 to 6, children aged 6 to 10, young people aged 11 to 14, adults, and masked groups of at least five people. An opportunity to unleash creativity and parade together with friends and family.

The Ospitaletto Carnival is promoted by the Municipality with the involvement of local associations. The spirit of the 2026 edition is well summarized by the chosen slogan, 'Let's have fun intelligently,' which invites everyone to experience the festival with cheerfulness and respect.
