The Village Carnival of Osio Sotto
The Carnival Parade is the event that brings the town of Osio Sotto, a municipality in the Bassa Bergamasca area of the province of Bergamo, to life each year. The heart of the celebration is the procession of floats, which starts from Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII and winds through the town's streets to the oratory, where snacks await the little ones.
"Quelli del carro" (The Float Makers)
The volunteer group "Quelli del carro" brings this event to life. They build the floats, choosing a different theme each year – from Hawaii to the world of Harry Potter. It's a craft and collective effort, supported by the Municipality and the oratory, involving the town's neighborhoods.
A Celebration for Everyone
The parade is free and open to all citizens. This Carnival afternoon enlivens the center of Osio Sotto with masks, confetti, and music, in one of the traditions most loved by families. During the event, please refrain from using spray cans and foam.
Osio Sotto Carnival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Carnival Parade is expected in Osio Sotto during the Carnival period. The event maintains its format: meeting point and start of the float procession from Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII, parade through the town streets, and arrival at the oratory with snacks for the children.
The theme for the year and the precise time will be announced by the "Quelli del carro" group and the Municipal Culture Office as Carnival approaches.
