The 30th edition: celebrating history and building the future

From July 26 to 28, 2025, the Orsara Jazz Festival celebrated its 30th edition in Largo San Michele, in the historic center of Orsara di Puglia (province of Foggia). Three evenings with free admission and a top-tier program, under the artistic direction of Lucio Ferrara and the organization of the Orsara Musica Association.

Opening the festival on Saturday, July 26, was the Avishai Cohen Quartet (trumpet), with Yonathan Avishai on piano, Barak Mori on double bass, and Ziv Ravitz on drums. Sunday, July 27, featured a double bill: the duo of Joe Pisto and Fausto Beccalossi with their project Respiro, followed by the ensemble led by Lucio Ferrara with saxophonist George Garzone. The closing night, Monday, July 28, was headlined by the legendary British double bassist Dave Holland with his project Kismet.

Alongside the evening concerts, the festival offered international masterclasses and seminars — including a session with George Garzone dedicated to the Triadic Chromatic Approach — as well as the Jazz Gallery and the exhibition of historic posters at the A.Li. community library, showcasing thirty years of the festival's history.
