Edition 2025 — Orapi Festival

On August 13, 2025, Barrea hosted the 41st Orapi Festival in Piazza del Mammarino, in the heart of the Abruzzo National Park. The Pro Loco offered traditional dishes based on orapi — handmade gnocchetti, orapi and beans, orapi and potato soup, and grilled meats — accompanied by folk music with Peppe Zona, in an evening of taste and conviviality in the village overlooking the lake.

The 41st Orapi Festival

The 2025 edition of the Orapi Festival, the forty-first, took place on August 13th in Piazza del Mammarino in Barrea, in the province of L'Aquila. The Pro Loco enlivened the evening with typical dishes prepared by hand by the village women: gnocchetti with orapi, orapi and beans, orapi and potato soup, and grilled meats. Musical entertainment was provided by Peppe Zona, with folk songs and dances in the village square. The festival confirmed itself as an identity celebration that unites history, nature, culture, and the conviviality of the Abruzzo territory, attracting hundreds of visitors to the heart of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park.
