Opuntia Ficus-Indica Fest 2025 — The 25th Edition
The 25th edition of the Prickly Pear Festival in Roccapalumba was held from October 17 to 19, 2025, celebrating twenty-five years of the event. For three days, the Palermo village, the 'town of the stars', enlivened its streets with stands of local products, handicrafts, and prickly pear-based specialties.
The public was able to enjoy the fruit in numerous sweet and savory preparations, taste the traditional scuzzulata (prickly pear liqueur), participate in taste workshops and guided tastings, attend musical performances and folkloric group shows, and visit the orchards along with the municipal astronomical observatory. The event, which offered free admission, attracted over 30,000 visitors as it does every year.
