A widespread festival in the heart of the Ninth Municipality

The Open Culture Festival was born with a clear goal: to take culture out of traditional venues and return it to the capital's suburbs. For ten days, Parco Laurentino, a vast green lung in the Laurentino 38 district just a stone's throw from the EUR area, becomes an open-air stage where art, play, and participation converge. The event is aimed at everyone—families, children, young people, and residents—with a completely free program designed for leisure and community life.

Art, inclusion, and sustainability

The festival revolves around three keywords that define its identity: inclusion, art, and sustainability. The program alternates between creative workshops, performances, street arts, and games that actively involve the public, alongside moments dedicated to environmental care and the rediscovery of urban green spaces. The underlying idea is simple yet ambitious: to use culture as a tool for social cohesion, giving a voice and a leading role to new generations and a neighborhood often on the margins of the city's main cultural circuits.

Parco Laurentino as a community hub

The choice of Parco Laurentino is no coincidence. This large green space has been a reference point for sports, play, and social interaction in the Ninth Municipality for years—an area of the city where cultural gathering places are precious. Transforming it into a festival for ten days means enhancing a local asset and strengthening the bond between citizens and their territory, in a part of Rome that looks toward the EUR but retains a strong neighborhood identity.

A 'Roma Creativa 365' project

The Open Culture Festival is among the projects selected by the Roma Creativa 365 - Culture all year round public call, promoted by the Municipality of Rome and Zètema Progetto Cultura to support cultural programming distributed throughout the year and across the entire city. The project, presented by Parchi Sportivi S.r.l., ranked in section 1A of the list: a recognition that confirms its solidity and value for the community of the Ninth Municipality.

The event is open and free, designed primarily for families, children, teenagers, and those who live in the neighborhood every day. Thanks to its outdoor and participatory nature, the Open Culture Festival is also an opportunity for those arriving from other parts of Rome and the Lazio region to discover a vibrant and creative suburb, far from the most beaten tourist paths.
