In the summer of 2025, Matera's Cava del Sole hosted concerts and major open-air music events, confirming its role as the city's natural stage in preparation for the Matera Mediterranean Capital of Culture 2026 programme.
During the summer of 2025, the Cava del Sole in Matera confirmed its vocation as a grand open-air stage, hosting concerts and musical events in the evocative tuff basin overlooking the Materan horizon. The season represented a natural lead-up to the musical programme of the Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue 2026, of which the Onde Sonore series is one of the flagship summer events.
