Pride Fest 2025: the first time for Nocera Inferiore

On July 12, 2025, the Villa Comunale on Via Solimena hosted the first Pride Fest of Nocera Inferiore, in the province of Salerno: according to the organizers, the first major event in the Agro Nocerino dedicated to the rights of the rainbow community. The initiative was born from the request of local activists to finally have a safe space in the city.

It was promoted by the Controcorrente association, which manages the municipal villa and reopened it with a community-focused program, together with the Arcigay Salerno «Marcella Di Folco» circle led by Emanuele Avagliano and in collaboration with the Municipality of Nocera Inferiore.

From 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM, there were speeches by activists, institutional representatives, and local and national associations, live music, artistic performances, and entertainment for all ages, with information stands, workshops, engagement activities, and refreshment areas. The public presentation of the initiative, on June 21, 2025, was accompanied by the screening of Different from the Others (1919) by Richard Oswald, a pioneering film on the subject of homosexuality.

The positive public response convinced the organizers to relaunch the event the following year, moving it up to June.
